Google Play Music service discontinued for M600

13.08.2020

Google has announced they will discontinue the Google Play Music service. Beginning September 2020, users will no longer be able to use or download the Google Play Music app on their Wear OS devices including Polar M600. By December 2020 access to Google Play Music for all users will be gone. Google Play Music users can transfer their music libraries to their YouTube Music account. Users will have a minimum of 30 days after losing access to Google Play Music to complete the transfer.

Google is working on improving integrated music services for Wear OS devices with YouTube Music in the coming months. In the meantime, you can use your Polar M600 to remotely control the YouTube Music app on your Android or iOS phone. When you play music from YouTube Music on your phone, controls will automatically appear on your watch if you have a Bluetooth audio device paired with your M600. At the moment it is not possible to play music from YouTube Music when M600 is disconnected from your phone.

More information is available on the Wear OS by Google Help site.
