Polar Payment Wristband
Polar Payment Wristband is fitted with an NFC chip inside a silicone wristband for contactless payments. We are partnering with Fidesmo and they manage the payment software and make safe transactions possible. There is no software connection between Polar watches and the payment wristband. Polar cannot collect or store any customer or payment data from transactions made with the payment wristbands.
Before you can make payments, you need Fidesmo mobile app to connect a compatible payment card to the wristband. You must connect and activate the payment method with a mobile phone.
Requirements
- Supported payment method – visit Fidesmo Pay to see which banks and payment cards are supported in your country.
- Mobile phone with NFC turned on – most modern phones are equipped with NFC already, but check your mobile's specifications to be sure.
- Any Polar watch with standard 20mm or 22mm width wristband size
Connecting payment to wristband
- Download and launch the Fidesmo app from Google Play or App Store.
- Place your Polar Payment Wristband and the phone on a table and let the app guide you through the setup process.
When connecting your payment card to the wristband, it is important to maintain a steady and strong contact between the wristband NFC chip part and the area where the phone's NFC antenna is. Find the correct contact point by carefully sliding the back of the phone over the imprinted NFC logo on the wristband. Place it down on top of the wristband when the connection is found. Be patient during the process; you may need to tap Connect many times. Just follow the app instructions. Here are some tips for finding the correct spot from Fidesmo.

Paying with wristband
Just bring the top of the wristband near a contactless payment terminal, until the terminal accepts the payment.
Otherwise you can use the wristband just like any other Polar silicone wristband.
To protect your payments from fraud, Fidesmo Pay limits the number of PIN-less transactions, or the accumulated spending, that can be done without any identity verification. This is done on behalf of some banks as part of the EU regulation PSD2. Once you reach this limit, you will get an email from Fidesmo. You need to open it with your phone to re-activate payments on your wristband to continue using it for payments.

Attaching wristband
You attach the wristband to the watch just like most current changeable Polar wristbands. See the short video for details.
Avoid excessively bending the top part of the wristband, where the NFC chip is located, to prevent any damage to it.
