Syncing data between Polar Loop and Flow app fails
Applies to: Polar Loop
If your Polar Loop fails to sync with the Polar Flow app, please go through the following checklist first:
iOS:
- Make sure the app and device are both up to date: Check from the App store that youâve got the latest version of the app installed. Flow app will tell you if thereâs a firmware update available for your device.
- Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on in your phone settings.
- Make sure Flow app is running on your phone and keep it at the foreground.
If you have completed all the steps above but are still experiencing sync issues, please continue troubleshooting as follows:
Try the following steps one at a time to fix the syncing problem. Try to sync again after each step. Continue with the steps if the sync fails.
Switch Bluetooth off and on from your phone.
Restart your phone and your device. To restart the device, press the restart/reset button with a pin when the device is NOT plugged in to charge.
Unpair the Bluetooth connection between the device and your phone, and then set up the device again using the Flow app.
To remove the pairing from the device, reset it to factory settings via the device settings in the Flow app, or by pressing the restart/reset button with a pin when the device is plugged in to charge.
When you perform a factory reset, the device is unpaired from your phone but may still appear in your phoneâs paired Bluetooth devices list and in your Polar Flow account. Before setting up it again, remove it from both by following these steps:
a) Go to flow.polar.com and sign in.
b) Click your name in the upper right corner and choose Products.

c) Find the product from the list and click the delete icon (X). Confirm by clicking Remove.
d) Check the list of paired Bluetooth devices on your phone, and remove Polar Loop from the list if it's there: Settings > Bluetooth > tap âiâ next to Polar Loop > Forget This Device.
Set up your device again with the Flow app. NOTE: Do NOT use your phoneâs Bluetooth menu to pair the device.
Re-install Polar Flow app on your phone:
Unpair the Bluetooth connection between the device and your phone as described above.
Turn off Bluetooth on your phone.
Sign out from the Flow app and uninstall it from your phone.
Restart your phone.
Turn Bluetooth back on in your phone.
Install Flow app again from the App store and sign in with your Flow account.
Set up your device again with the Flow app. NOTE: Do NOT use your phoneâs Bluetooth menu to pair the device.
Android:
- Make sure the app and device are both up to date: Check from Google Play that youâve got the latest version of the app installed. Flow app will tell you if thereâs a firmware update available for your device.
- Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on in your phone settings.
- Make sure location is enabled for Polar Flow app in the phone's application settings. On Android 6 and newer devices, location permission is needed to scan for Bluetooth devices.
- Make sure Flow app is running on your phone and keep it at the foreground.
- If you have several Flow app compatible Polar devices in use, make sure you have chosen Polar Loop as the active device in the Flow app. This way Flow app knows to connect to your device. In the Flow app, go to Devices and choose Polar Loop, and then return to the main menu.
