Getting started

Compatibility and connectivity

By default, H10 sends heart rate signal via Bluetooth®, ANT+™ and Polar GymLink (5 kHz). It is compatible with Bluetooth® and ANT+™ devices that support heart rate service as well as with older Polar watches and gym equipment having 5 kHz technology.

A separate application is required to view heart rate data on the receiving mobile device. It is recommended to use the Polar Flow app but it is also possible to use other applications.

Note that the H10 transmits your heart rate signal simultaneously via Bluetooth and ANT+. Both connections are set on by default. To save the battery lifetime, you can turn off the connections you don't need from the sensor settings in the Polar Flow app after you have paired the sensor with the app.

Bluetooth transmission range

To ensure sufficient transmission range from your H10 to the receiving device, keep the device in front of you. A good place is in a front pocket or fixed on a belt. Do not wear the receiving device on your back (for example, in a back pocket or backpack). More information about the Bluetooth transmission range can be found at support.polar.com.

First-time use

To get started with your Polar H10, pair it with the Polar Flow app first. You will get the latest firmware updates for your sensor through the app. If you use the sensor with a Polar watch or other device or application, pair it with them as well. Refer to the chapter Pairing for instructions on how to pair your H10 with the Flow app and Polar watches. If you use the H10 with a device or application from another manufacturer, see the manufacturer's instructions for more information on pairing.
