Polar Beat compatibility and requirements
Polar devices work with most modern smartphones. Here are the minimum requirements:
- iOS mobile devices with iOS 12 and later
- Android mobile devices with Bluetooth 4.0 capability and Android 6 or later (check full phone specification from your phone manufacturer)
There is plenty of variation between how different Android and iOS devices handle the technologies used in our products and services, such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and different standards and protocols. Because of this, compatibility varies between phone manufacturers, and unfortunately Polar cannot guarantee that all features can be used with all devices.
iPad supports Polar Beat as an iPhone app.
To see your heart rate data in the Polar Beat app, you need to use it with Polar H6 or H7, H10 or OH1 Bluetooth heart rate sensor. Polar Bluetooth sensors may not be available in all countries due to the local legislation.
To enable HR signal reception, enable Bluetooth on your iPhone.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth > On
On Android, go to Settings > Connected devices > and toggle Bluetooth on.
Polar H6/H7/H10/OH1 will not appear in the Bluetooth devices list even when it is paired with Polar Beat.
Turn location services on on your iPhone to get GPS-enabled data in the app.
Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > On
In Location Services, make sure Polar Beat is set While Using the App.
On Android, go to Settings > Security & location > Location > On
In App-level permissions, make sure Polar Beat is enabled to use your location.
