What is the battery lifetime and operational time of my Ignite?
The Ignite has an internal, rechargeable battery.
The battery operating time is:
- up to 17 hours training with GPS and optical heart rate, or
- 5 days activity tracking with Continuous heart rate tracking.
The operating time depends on many factors, such as the temperature of the environment in which you use your Ignite, the features and sensors you use, and battery aging. Phone notifications and frequent syncing with Flow app will also decrease the battery life. The operating time is significantly reduced in temperatures well below freezing. Wearing the Ignite under your overcoat helps to keep it warmer and to increase the operating time.
The Continuous heart rate tracking is on by default in Polar Ignite. Keeping the Continuous heart rate tracking on in your Ignite will drain the battery quicker. Using the night-time only mode will extend the battery life. You can turn the Continuous heart rate tracking on, off or to night-time only mode on your watch in Settings > General settings > Continuous HR tracking.
Backlight always on during training: With always on the watch display will be illuminated throughout your training session. The backlight setting will default back to automatic after you finish your training session. Please note that selecting always on will drain your battery much faster.
