Troubleshooting pairing M600 with my phone

If you’re having trouble pairing your smartwatch to your phone for the first time, here are some tips that can help you solve the problem:

If you’re having trouble getting the M600 to reconnect to your paired phone, try these steps to re-establish a lost connection.

Android phone users

To be able to pair the M600 with your phone, you need to make sure your phone is compatible with Wear OS.

Your phone needs to be running Android version 4.3 or higher. You can visit http://g.co/WearCheck on your phone to check if it's compatible with Wear OS.

Make sure your phone’s Bluetooth is turned on.

To check your phone’s Bluetooth is turned on

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Under Wireless & networks, tap Bluetooth.
  3. Make sure the switch is set to On. If it’s Off, tap the switch to turn Bluetooth on.

Make sure your phone is connected to Internet.

Your phone needs a mobile data or a Wi-Fi connection.

Sometimes the Wi-Fi connection might disturb the setup process. You can try to turn the Wi-Fi off from your phone and complete the setup using your phone’s mobile data.

Make sure the Polar and Google apps are up to date on your phone.

You need up-to-date versions of Google Play services, Google Search and Wear OS apps. Find the latest version information from Wear OS Help’s site.

Keep the Wear OS app running on your phone until it says Polar M600 Connected.

Make sure your Polar Flow app is up to date and you’ve signed in to the app. Check the latest Flow app release from here.

Turn Airplane mode on and off to see if it helps the Flow app to find your M600.

If the Polar Flow app on your phone can’t find your M600, try turning the Airplane mode on and off again in the M600's Settings.

To turn the Airplane mode on and off

  1. Swipe down from the top of the home screen of your M600 to access the Quick settings menu.
  2. Tap the airplane icon to turn the Airplane mode on (the icon is white) and off (the icon is gray).

Restart both the M600 and your phone.

To restart the M600

  1. Press and hold down the side power button until the Polar logo appears.

To restart your phone

  1. Press and hold the power button.

Reset the Polar M600 to factory settings.

If any of the above tips didn’t do the trick, you can try unpairing and resetting your M600.

Note that resetting empties all personal data and settings from the M600, and you need to set it up again for your personal use!

To unpair the M600 and your phone and to reset your M600

  1. In the Wear OS app on your phone, open Settings.
  2. Under the Device settings, tap Polar M600.
  3. Tap UNPAIR WATCH.
  4. Confirm the unpairing by tapping UNPAIR WATCH. This will also reset your watch.

To pair the M600 and your phone again

  1. Open the Wear OS app on your phone.
  2. To finish pairing the M600 and your phone again, follow the instructions on the screen or see the instructions in the M600 user manual.

Remember to connect the Polar app to the Polar Flow app again to finish setting up your M600:

To reconnect the Polar app on your M600 to the Polar Flow app on your phone

  1. Open the Polar Flow app on your phone.
  2. Choose whether you’ll wear the M600 on your left or right wrist, then tap Continue.
  3. You'll see "Setup completed" when you've successfully reconnected the Polar app on your M600 to the Polar Flow app on your phone.

iPhone users:

To be able to pair your M600 with your phone, you need to make sure your phone is compatible with Wear OS.

You need to have iPhone model 5 or later running iOS version 9.0 or higher. You can visit http://g.co/WearCheck on your phone to check if it's compatible with Wear OS.

Make sure your phone’s Bluetooth is turned on.

To check your phone’s Bluetooth is turned on

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Bluetooth.
  3. Make sure Bluetooth is switched on.

Make sure your phone is connected to Internet.

Your phone needs a mobile data or a Wi-Fi connection.

Make sure the Polar and Google apps are up to date on your phone.

You need to have an up-to-date version of the Wear OS app. Find the latest version information from Wear OS Help site.

Keep the Wear OS app running on the foreground until it says Polar M600 Connected. Then leave it running in the background.

Make sure your Polar Flow app is up to date and you’ve signed in to the app. Check the latest Flow app release from here.

To update apps on your iPhone

  1. Open the App Store app.
  2. Tap Updates from the lower right corner. If there are updates available for some of the apps on your iPhone, you'll see the app's icon(s) under Available updates.
  3. Tap Update All in the upper right corner, or tap the Update button next to an app icon if you’d like to only update certain ones.

Make sure you open the Polar app on the M600 when you’re connecting the smartwatch to the Polar Flow app.

If you’re having trouble setting up your M600 with the Polar Flow app, make sure you press the front button of your M600 to open the Polar app on the smartwatch while you have the Polar Flow app open on your phone. This will activate a connection between the M600 and your phone, and the Flow app will be able to recognize your M600 nearby.

Turn Airplane mode on and off to see if it helps the Flow app to find your M600.

If the Polar Flow app on your phone can’t find your M600, try turning the Airplane mode on and off again in the M600's Settings.

To turn the Airplane mode on and off

  1. Swipe down from the top of the home screen of your M600 to access the Quick settings menu.
  2. Tap the airplane icon to turn the Airplane mode on (the icon is white) and off (the icon is gray).

Restart both the M600 and your phone.

To restart the M600

  1. Press and hold down the side power button until the Polar logo appears.

To restart your phone

  1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until a slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn the power off.
  3. After your phone turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until you see the Apple logo.

Reset the Polar M600 to factory settings.

If any of the above tips didn’t do the trick, you can try unpairing and resetting your M600.

Note that resetting empties all personal data and settings from the M600, and you need to set it up again for your personal use!

  1. In the Settings app on your phone, tap Bluetooth.
  2. Find your Wear OS device from the list and tap "i".
  3. To unpair, tap Forget This Device.
  4. Confirm the unpairing by tapping Forget Device.

To reset the M600

  1. Swipe down from the top of the home screen to open the Quick Settings menu.
  2. Tap the Settings icon.
  3. Find and tap System.
  4. Tap Disconnect & reset.
  5. Confirm resetting the watch by tapping the check mark icon.

To pair the M600 and your phone again

  1. In the Wear OS app on your phone, tap the three dots at the top right corner.
  2. Tap Pair with new wearable.
  3. To finish pairing the M600 and your phone again, follow the instructions on the screen or see the instructions in the M600 user manual.

Remember to connect the Polar app to the Polar Flow app again to finish setting up your M600:

To reconnect the Polar app on your M600 to the Polar Flow app on your phone

  1. Open the Polar Flow app on your phone.
  2. Open the Polar app on your M600 by pressing the front button. Then tap Start on your phone.
  3. Choose whether you’ll wear the M600 on your left or right wrist, then tap Save and Sync.
  4. You'll see "Setup completed" when you've successfully reconnected the Polar app on your M600 to the Polar Flow app on your phone.
