Troubleshooting short battery life on M600

M600 is a Wear OS smartwatch. The settings, features, and apps you choose to use affect battery life. Here are some tips to help extend the battery life.

Keep both Polar app and Wear OS up to date on your M600 (and on the paired phone). This ensures that your smartwatch has the latest improvements and runs smoothly.

Turn off Wi-Fi

If you do not need Wi-Fi connection, turning it off will extend battery life considerably.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the home screen.
  2. Tap the settings.
  3. Tap Connectivity.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi and toggle Off.

Turn on Airplane mode

Turning on the Airplane mode turns off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections. This saves battery.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the home screen.
  2. Tap the settings.
  3. Tap Connectivity.
  4. Tap Airplane mode.

Turn off location finder

Some apps access your location to provide specific content. Turning off location finder saves battery life.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the home screen.
  2. Tap the settings.
  3. Tap Connectivity
  4. Tap Location off

Note that to get GPS tracking for your training, Polar app needs access to location!

Turn off Bluetooth

When you don't need M600 connecting to your phone (e.g. when you’re sleeping), turning Bluetooth off from your phone or M600 helps save battery.

If you'd like to use the M600 in the standalone mode, see the M600 eManual.

Turn off Bluetooth on M600:

  1. Pull down from the top of the home screen.
  2. Tap settings.
  3. Tap Connectivity.
  4. Tap Bluetooth and toggle off.

Tweak your screen settings

Adjust screen brightness

By default M600 screen is set to Automatic. With this setting, ambient light affects display brightness. You can switch from automatic to low (1) screen brightness to save battery life.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the home screen.
  2. Tap settings.
  3. Tap Display.
  4. Tap Adjust brightness.
  5. Choose your preferred screen brightness. The brighter you keep your smartwatch screen, the more battery the M600 will use.

Disable screen Always-on

Turn Always-on screen off when you're not using the smartwatch. This saves battery life. You can tilt your smartwatch, tap on the screen or press a button to wake it up again.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the home screen.
  2. Tap settings.
  3. Tap Display.
  4. Tap Always-on screen.

Turn on Theater mode

Theater mode turns off the screen and stops it from waking up even if you move your hand, touch the screen or get a notification.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the home screen.
  2. Tap Theater mode.

Change watch face

Some watch faces use up more of your smartwatch's battery than others. Changing the watch face can save battery life.

To change the watch face:

  1. Swipe from right to left on the home screen.
  2. Tap +Add more watch faces to open the list of watch faces available on your M600.
  3. Tap to choose the watch face you want to use.

Unistall apps

If you recently installed an app and notice that M600 battery is draining faster than before, try uninstalling that app.

  1. Press the side power button.
  2. Find and tap Play Store.
  3. Swipe down from the top of the screen, and tap the My Apps icon.
  4. Find and tap the app you want to remove.
  5. Scroll down to find and tap Uninstall.

Enable 'Do Not Disturb'

Use Do Not Disturb, to block notifications you don’t need. This can save battery.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the home screen.
  2. Tap the Do not disturb.
