Customer sign-in

Customers need to have a Polar account to be able to sign in to the classes. This is because the training information will be sent to Polar Flow web service after the class.

There are three different kinds of customer sign-in cases.

1. Sign-in - no Polar account

Consider having a separate iPad for the customers who need to create a Polar account before signing in to classes. This way you avoid lines in the club reception and give your customers privacy in the account creation.

Tapping REGISTER on the customer welcome page opens a form which your customer has to fill in.

  • Date of birth is needed for estimating maximum heart rate. The maximum heart rate is estimated by using the commonly used formula: 220 - age. The value can be changed if needed.
  • The personal information – gender, weight, height - is needed to ensure correct calorie consumption calculation and training feedback.
  • If the customers have their own Polar H7 or H6 heart rate sensors, they can pair them with the app by tapping CONNECT SENSOR and SEARCH FOR SENSORS. If the customers don't have their own sensors, they can borrow one later on.

Tapping DONE in the upper right corner finalizes the account creation and the customer gets to choose a class to sign in to.

If the customer needs to borrow a heart rate sensor, the sensor is chosen in this view by tapping CHOOSE and choosing the sensor from the list.

The customers can also pair their sensors with the app in this view by tapping the Sensor ID field and SEARCH FOR SENSORS.

2. Sign-in with a Polar account

Customers who already have a Polar account, but don’t have their own heart rate sensors paired with the app use the option Sign in with your Polar account.

After giving their email and tapping SIGN IN, the customers get to choose a class to sign in to.

If the customer needs to borrow a heart rate sensor, the sensor is chosen in this view by tapping CHOOSE and choosing the sensor from the list.

The customers can also pair their sensors with the app in this view by tapping the Sensor ID field and SEARCH FOR SENSORS.

3. Quick sign-in

Quick sign-in is the quickest way to sign in to classes. It is possible for customers who

  • Have a Polar account
  • Have saved at least one heart rate training session to Polar flow web service earlier.
  • Have paired their own heart rate sensors with Polar Club app.
  • Wear the heart rate sensor when coming into the class.

When arriving at the club, the customer taps SIGN IN under Quick Sign-in and gets to choose a class to sign in to.
