Polar Equine app compatibility and requirements
The Polar Equine app is designed to be used with the following Polar Equine products:
- Polar Equine Healthcheck
- Polar Equine heart rate monitor for riding
- Polar Equine heart rate monitor for trotters
The above Polar Equine products include a Polar H10 heart rate sensor that measures the horse’s heart rate in real time and sends the information continuously and wirelessly to the app. Before you can start using the Healthcheck and Data collection features on the Polar Equine app, you need to pair your H10 heart rate sensor with the app.
H10 heart rate sensor
Polar Equine app is compatible with the Polar H10 heart rate sensor. The earliest H10 firmware version that supports the Polar Equine app is v. 3.0.35.
If you have a Polar H10 heart rate sensor with an older firmware version, you can update the sensor via Polar Beat app or Polar Flow app on your mobile using the latest version of the app of your choosing. If you haven't used either one of the apps, you need to pair the sensor with it first. Wear the sensor and the app will suggest the update automatically. Check detailed instructions for updating and pairing in the link below.
Compatible Android phones
The Polar Equine app works with most modern Android smartphones. Here are the minimum requirements: Android mobile devices with Bluetooth 4.0 capability and Android 6.0 or later (check full phone specification from your phone manufacturer).
To enable heart rate signal reception, enable Bluetooth on your phone.
Go to Settings > Connected devices > and toggle Bluetooth on.
There is plenty of variation between how different Android devices handle the technologies used in our products and services, such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and different standards and protocols. Because of this, compatibility varies between phone manufacturers, and unfortunately Polar cannot guarantee that all features can be used with all devices
