How do I transfer data from polarpersonaltrainer.com to the Polar Flow web service?

You can transfer the training results and fitness test results of the following Polar products: RCX3, RCX5, RC3 GPS, CS500, CS500+, RS300X, RS800CX, CS600X, FT80, FT60, FT40 and FT7. It’s possible to transfer either a single training or fitness test result or up to 25 results at a time.

You can log into Polar Flow with your polarpersonaltrainer.com username and password. The training and fitness test results are transferred from your polarpersonaltrainer.com account to the corresponding account in Polar Flow (the account with the same username and password). Note, that you can’t choose the account you transfer the results to.

If you edit the fitness test or training result in polarpersonaltrainer.com after transferring it,  you can transfer the changes to Polar Flow only by deleting the result in Polar Flow and transferring the result again from polarpersonaltrainer.com.

Please note that there are feature differences between polarpersonaltrainer.com and Polar Flow. Polar Flow has features that are not available in polarpersonaltrainer.com, but polarpersonaltrainer.com has features that aren’t available in Polar Flow as well.

Data transfer limitations

For now you can transfer your training results, except for multisport results, and fitness test results (VO2max values).

Since there are differences between the Polar Flow web service and polarpersonaltrainer.com, all data is not shown in the Polar Flow web service. Please see the limitations below.

Training results

The following data of your training results can’t be transferred: •

  • Training session name
  • Maximum incline
  • Fit/fat zones for Polar FT40 and FT7
  • Barometer
  • Temperature value of the laps
  • Training load value
  • Strength training movements

If you’ve added some training results to polarpersonaltrainer.com manually, you can transfer them to Polar Flow if you have registered one of the following products in the polarpersonaltrainer.com Products section: RCX3, RCX5, RC3 GPS, CS500, CS500+, RS300X, RS800CX, CS600X, FT80, FT60, FT40, FT7.

Heart rate zone limits

After the transfer, the heart rate zone limits of your training sessions in Polar Flow may be different from the limits in polarpersonaltrainer.com. The limits may need to be adjusted to suit the Polar Flow web service. This is done automatically during the transfer.

Heart rate data filtering

If the connection between your heart rate sensor and training device is lost for a moment during training i.e. your heart rate is zero for a moment, polarpersonaltrainer.com filters out the faulty readings. This means that momentary 0-readings don’t affect training data and aren’t shown on the heart rate curve. The Polar Flow web service doesn’t yet have this filtering feature, so in this case the heart rate curve looks different in Polar Flow compared to polarpersonaltrainer.com.

Progress reports

All the transferred data can’t be included in the progress reports in the Polar Flow web service. Transferred data is not taken into account in the training load calculation.
